The 'Sweet Life':
Ingredients
For the Calabrian Simple Syrup:
- 1 cup of sugar
- 4 dried calabrian chilis
For the Cocktail:
- ¼ oz calabrian chili simple syrup
- 3 oz pure passion fruit juice
- 2 oz light rum
- ½ oz freshly squeezed lemon juice
- ½ oz Almond orgeat
- ½ oz amaro montenegro
Instructions
- Make the calabrian chili Simple Syrup:
- add 1 cup of sugar to 1 cup of water.
- add 4 dried calabrian chilis
- bring to a boil and then reduce to a simmer.
- simmer for about 10 mins or until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture has thickened slightly.
- let chilis sit for at least 10 min, up to 2 hours to fully infuse.
- strain the chilis out of the syrup and store in an airtight container in the fridge.
- Add calabrian chili simple syrup, passion fruit juice, lemon juice, rum, orgeat and montenegro to a shaker.
- Shake for 30-40 seconds.
- Add in the ice and shake for another 20 seconds.
- Double strain the cocktail into a glass and garnish.
