WHITE FERRARI

Pull up to Nobu in your White Ferrari, wrists dripping with ice you couldn’t afford just a year ago. A lot can happen when you dump your loser ex and start focusing on your bank account instead. White Ferrari smells like a $100,000 credit limit. It’s the way you feel when you can finally afford to put down your AMEX to cover the bill. It’s matching white faux fur for all your friends, luxurious (but woke), Dom Perignon and Christian Louboutin. It’s cocktails and caviar in the penthouse suite, and the way the butler at your fave hotel irons your socks. White Ferrari smells like getting a promotion and treating yourself to a deep tissue massage in the same hour. Who needs a rich man when you can become one?

THE WHITE FERRARI

Ingredients

For the Demerara Sandalwood syrup:

• 4 small sticks sandalwood
• 1 sprig rosemary
• 3 tbsp sugar

For the cocktail:

• 2 oz Four Roses Bourbon
• 2 dashes Angostura bitters
• 0.75 oz sandalwood syrup 
• 0.25 oz orgeat
• 1 slice candied orange peel 

Instructions

• Make the Demerara Sandalwood Simple Syrup:
• Put the sandalwood and rosemary  in a small pan on a low heat, and warm gently to release the wood’s aroma. 
• In a bowl, mix the sugar and 3 tablespoons hot water until the sugar dissolves.
• Pour the syrup into the sandalwood pan, cook, stirring, on a low heat for 10 minutes, then strain.
• Put sandalwood syrup, bitters and orgeat into a chilled cocktail glass. Fill with ice and stir to dilute slightly. Pour bourbon into each glass, stir again and finish with a candied orange. Serve at once.
